Statement
My name is Mengxi Chen from RCA textile -soft system, I majored in art and technology (fashion) before and am now focussing on how to combine clothing and fabric design with future technology. I enjoy working with odd materials, and my work is inspired by my life and my interactions with people around me. In my work, I like exaggerated colour combinations, or just one colour, with exaggerated shapes. I think that art is very diverse and I aspire to be a craftsman, especially in the knitting direction, where the work is knitted by hand with emotion, so I am happy to combine traditional crafts with other materials to create different sparks and pass on the heritage.
